There are many people that want to make money online, and that’s wonderful. The problem is that there are a few things that must be considered before you embark on becoming the next internet millionaire. Contrary to popular belief, making money on the internet isn’t as easy as say…..winning the lottery. Making money on the internet is just like making money doing anything…..there’s work involved. 3) Like any endeavor that you undertake with the goal of generating abundance, there’s going to be an investment of money involved. To actually make money online, you’re going to have to invest money into your online business. It’s as simple as that. If you opened a pizza shop, it would require you to invest money. The online arena is no different.
4) You’ve probably heard a lot about lists. Email lists to be exact. All of the experts say that you must have a big list, and to continually build your list. If you’re just starting out, this means that you have to buy email addresses. This costs money. You hear a lot about opt-in lists, which simply means that a person decided to sign up for your newsletter or e-zine. This is absolutely the best kind of list to have, but what the “experts” fail to mention is the fact that it’s difficult (at best) to get people to voluntarily sign up for your e-zine or newsletter. Impossible…….absolutely not, just more difficult than most people let on, and you should be aware of that fact.
5) Making money online is exactly like making money in any other business, the method is just a little bit different. Many so called experts make the internet out to be something that it’s simply not. Making money online requires work, just as making money anywhere does.
Keep these points in mind as you move forward. All the success in the world is available; I just wanted to clear up a bit of the misinformation floating around out there. If none of these points scare the living daylights out of you and you still want to make money online, good for you! Keep in mind what Jim Rohn says about money as you move forward, “Time is more value than money. You can get more money, but you cannot get more time.”

Getting Your Site Indexed by Search Engines
Not to be mistaken for new page indexing that Google now offers 24 hour on demand page indexing for existing sites that have deployed Google Site Search on their sites. However “On Demand Indexing” now offered by Google can be useful if you decide to get serious about your hot trends business and run a Word Press Blog on your own domain. More on that later.
Site indexing is just that. Getting your new web site or blog’s domain name (URL), indexed into it’s search engine database. There is no hope of attaining any search engine position, low or high, without Google first doing what is called spidering the Internet with “Bots” that go out and search for new sites and new information on existing sites. These bots are generated from the numerous data centers Google has around the world. When they spider for indexing is a closely held secret. It is not on any regular schedule.
I can remember before Google was even in existence and it taking weeks to sometimes months to get a site indexed in what was the hot search engines and directories of the day. Old systems like Netscapes search engine, Web Crawler, Magellan, Excite, and others have been folded into the biggies we know today. A Few like MSN and Yahoo are a couple that have stood the test of time and the onslaught of Google. Getting your site indexed quickly in the search engines is still not an exact science. At least not in the time frames we need to get them indexed in. so we’re not going to rely on them being indexed and certainly not getting 1st page search engine results. Be proactive and getting our own traffic is the key.
However I have seen the methods listed below get a brand new blog indexed in less that 24 hours. That is livable in the fast paced world of hot trends marketing. I will occasionally not mess with the following processes if I found a hot trend that is pretty iffy. I won’t take time spending time on something that is a long shot. Why do I take iffy long shots? Because I can afford the time or am between other projects when I do. And it’s kind of a kick when I do go for a long shot and it pays off.
With that in mind, it is still worth employing a couple of tricks I’ve learned along the way. These action steps will only take you a few minutes once you have the process down.

Do You Need Traffic To Your Website? Then Go Get It
If you’ve had a website for any period of time, you’ve realized that traffic doesn’t magically appear. When I started on the Internet I think this is what I thought. I must of thought that the Internet was like the movie Field Of Dreams, and if you built a website, the traffic would come. I quickly found out that this wasn’t at all the case, and actually not even close to the case.
As a matter of fact I found out that you don’t magically get any traffic. You have to go out and get traffic. What do I mean by go out and get traffic? You have to write articles, and do book reviews, and go to forums, basically anything where you can get your website “out there” via a resource box. You simply can’t expect the traffic to magically appear, because it doesn’t.
You also need to optimize your site for the search engines. This should be done while you build it, or you will simply have to redo the stuff that needs done. I’ll let you research the SEO process yourself, because once you open that can of worms, you’re going to have worms freakin’ everywhere! Just don’t fall into the trap of thinking you can pay someone 50 bucks a month and be dome with SEO. This is not true.
The bottom line is that if you don’t have a big budget to spend on advertising and employee’s you need to get creative and go out and get traffic for your website, and if you’re reading this article I would have to assume the big budget and team of employee’s isn’t a viable option. So stop reading this article and start writing some, because writing articles is a good way to drive traffic.

So you’re interested in making money online. I’m assuming that because you’re reading an article with this title. The biggest obstacle to making money online is navigating through all of the crap floating around the making money online toilet. And let me tell you something, there’s a lot of crap. My first piece of advice is to stop kidding yourself into the fact that it’s simple and easy to make money online.
Before I go any further, let me make it abundantly clear that I have no vested interest in you making money online. I’m not selling any e-book or trying to recruit you into a program. My website has nothing to do with any of those things, it has to do with fishing. I simply want to tell you some of what I’ve learned with the hopes that it may save you some time and money. I realize how incredibly frustrating figuring this “online” thing out can be, so I just wanted to offer my take.
The first thing, as I eluded to before, is that you need to stop kidding yourself into thinking making money online is simple, easy, or quick. Many people, myself included, fall into the trap of thinking that money can be made hand over fist simply because there’s a website involved. This is simply not true. Making money online is exactly like making money anywhere else. Many people who want to sell you a “business opportunity” will lie about this fact and make it seem as if making money online is somehow different. Making money online is in no way different than making money in any other business, and surely not because it has the word ‘online’ attached to it. But these weasels want to make it seem as if it’s different simply to get your money.
If you have the intention of making money online you need to educate yourself about the internet before you begin. These ‘weasels’ that I’m speaking of prey on people who aren’t aware of some of the simplest things. I’m not saying that you have to become a tech dork, just educate yourself a bit as to how the Internet works. Look into things such as: affiliate marketing, driving traffic, SEO (search engine optimization), and article writing. Especially the subject of traffic. You need to have a plan in place as to how you’re going to get people to your website. Don’t do what I did, and jump in to the swimming pool known as the Internet with no real Internet experience or self education. You might almost drown while trying to get a lot of it figured out.
My last piece of advice is to not think that you can solve this puzzle quickly. As I’ve said making money online is exactly like making money elsewhere, and making money almost never happens overnight. Again, this is where the ‘weasels’ do their best to convince you otherwise. They will make it seem as if making money with their “system” is easier than taking a breath! Remember what your Mom told you, if it sounds to good to be true, it IS. If you want to really make money online make sure that your passionate about the subject as well. You see, if your passionate about the subject, you won’t care about money, and then the money will follow. It’s when we do things simply for the promise of money that we get in trouble.

In all honesty affiliate marketing is a wonderful way to make money, it just doesn’t happen overnight. Not by any stretch of the imagination. The premise behind affiliate marketing is simple. Companies pay you a percentage of each sale for referring visitors to their site. In other words if someone click on a link for a widget on your site, the link takes the person to your affiliates site. If they then purchase the widget, you get a percentage of that sale. The percentage varies by company and product, but is normally between 5% and 25%.
Affiliate marketing is truly a wonderful system. You never have to touch a product, and you get paid. You don’t have to have a warehouse full of product, you don’t have to ship anything, you don’t have to complete the transaction, and you collect a piece of that transaction. Now, before dollar signs start ringing in your head, that’s just how it works. Getting people to convert, that is buy something, is the work. You don’t have to do all of the things mentioned earlier, but you do have to help people make the decision to buy.
Not only do you have to help them make the decision to buy, you have to refer a lot of people to your affiliates site in order to get sales. So affiliate marketing is really about getting traffic to your site first and then referring that traffic to your affiliates site. And my friends, getting traffic to your site is not an easy thing to do. That’s where the work comes in. You may not have to stock or ship the product, but you do have to get visitors to visit your website and then visit your affiliates website, which is by no means a quick and easy thing to do.
That, in a nutshell, is what affiliate marketing is and how it works. The premise is wonderfully simple and affiliate marketing is a wonderful way to make money. Just don’t think of it as a way that you’re going to get rich quickly. As with anything of value on this spinning rock we call earth, making money doesn’t happen quickly. You must provide value to your customer, or in this case your visitor in order to make money. And remember, just slapping a flashy banner ad on your website isn’t going to amount to anything more than having a flashy banner on you website.

Finding the time to do your own website marketing.
A post I made on a forum, I thought was worth sharing… one of the members there said this
My biggest question is – who has the time for all this ‘online marketing’? While I have added my details to common directories, try to post at least 1 blog per month and follow the odd chat … I really struggle to find time to spend hours researching ‘the latest’. Tips appreciated!

Blogging, Tweeting, Facebooking, Linkedin, and other social media sites are all just ways of getting potential clients to your blog and then website, if you don’t want to pay someone like me to market your business online, then you have to do it by trial and error, and quote frankly wasting hundreds of hours trying things out, that don’t work, I’ve done that years ago, and now know the tricks of the trade.
And I’m still trying out new things, to see what works and what doesn’t, but generally, some things work for some businesses other don’t, so I have to know how each thing works, so I can use the right combination for each business I work with.
I guess most of you know, I’m and SEO, I make websites findable in search engines, and more importantly make it findable for that websites potential customers.
Anyone can get people to their website, that’s easy, and what most people that say they are search engine optimisation or website optimisation experts do, they get people to your website, the trick is to get people ready to click the paypal button, write an email, pick up the phone and call you, that’s what Pro SEO’s do.
EG: I have a client who is a dentist, and while he only gets about 400 visitors a month to his website, which is lousy, but read on…
I’ve been working on his sites since the end of Jan 09, in Feb he got 2 new patients, and in March another 14 new patients, and now he’s averaging between 12 and 19 new patients every month coming directly from the site I optimize. You do the math at the % of visitors that view his website that become patients, it fantastic. Better than any other form of advertising.
He made a healthy investment in SEO of almost $35,000 USD, he said at his had a ROI in 4 months. We are only at month 7 of a 14 month SEO campaign.
This dentist said to me from the start, that he’s a dentist, and doesn’t want to know what I do, just make his website work. He actually asked me a few months back to stop optimizing his site, because he had to get a larger office and hire another dentist and staff to handle all the new patients he was getting.
On the other hand I had a new client a few years getting a respectable 8-10,000 visitors a month, and not getting any sales to speak of. that site now gets around 12,000 visitors, and the owner makes an income enough to live on, she could do a whole lot better, but she’s not willing to do the work herself or pay me to, she seems happy with getting a few hundred a week.
My point is, to have an online business, and have that business be successful, you either have to pay someone like me, or do the work yourself making the investment in your business in sweat equity. I wrote an article years ago, before social media was the in thing, setting out the investment you must make in your websites to just get it optimised, and doing well in search engines, you might find it interesting.

If you add say 2 hours a night to that articles suggestions, for social media-ing, not counting the time to find what best works for you, you’d still on the right track within a year or so.

What exactly is SEO? It’s an acronym and stands for search engine optimization. The theory is to optimize your website so that the search engines will like it, and then rank you height for search results. For example if you sell pork sandwiches, and someone types the phrase “pork sandwiches” into a search engine, ideally you would like your website to be the first result. The theory is if your website is the first result, you would then receive a bunch of traffic, which you would. That is if people actually search for the term “pork sandwiches”. The bottom line is that SEO is optimizing your website so that it’s friendly to search engines.
When we were rookies, our webmaster said if we spent fifty bucks a month he could “optimize” our site so that it would be in the top search results. What he didn’t explain, and I realized later, was that all he was doing was submitting the site to search engines. Terms that were proprietary were ranking well on most search engines, in fact these terms ranked number one. He said to me once, “those are good terms”. Then I realized the truth. Of course they were “good terms” and we ranked very high on search results. It was because no one searched for these terms because they were proprietary! The public didn’t know what a “gang hook” was, so of course if you type the term gang hook into Google, our site would come up. We quickly stopped paying fifty bucks a month for something that was accomplishing nothing! And just so you know, we’re still at the top for the term gang hook.
The problem is that this is the type of thing that happens. When you’re new to the arena, people take advantage of the things you don’t know. The bottom line is that optimizing your site takes time. You have to pick the phrases that you want to optimize, and then incorporate them into your site. And phrases that are incredibly popular (and get searched for a lot), are out of reach to the average website. No one wants to admit this, but it’s true.
The bottom line is that optimizing your website takes time and effort. You have to exchange links with other websites, write articles, distribute press releases, and anything else you can think of to get your website noticed. Don’t be like we were and think that you can simply pay a company fifty bucks a month and end up in the top ten search results for terms actually relating to your website. This is a fallacy, and you might as well save your money. Think about it (which is what we should have done), if it were as simple as paying fifty bucks a month, wouldn’t everyone and their brother be in the top ten results? It’s unrealistic to assume that SEO is that simple. Keep plugging away, doing the things such as those mentioned here and the results will come in time.

The entire landscape of home business opportunities is full of more snakes than that tomb in the first Indiana Jones movie. There are weasels out there proclaiming that you can have a home business and they will do most of the work for you. All you have to do is by into the “business” and collect the checks. I put the term business in quotes because in the case of 99% of home business opportunities out there the term is used more loosely than a freshly opened can of creamed corn. Honestly, how realistic is it that you can make money with little or no effort? I’ll let you in on a little law of the universe…IT’S NOT REALISTIC.
Do you know what’s interesting about this? I’m a guy who has a successful home based business. I have a business that I work out of my home, and make money. I simply want people to realize that the fact that the business is conducted out of my home means nothing. It hasn’t been “easy” and no one else has done the work for me. This is my point. The idea of a home based business is a joke. It makes no difference where the business is conducted from.
So, as you navigate the mine field known as home based business opportunities, remember: If you don’t follow your passion, you’re in trouble. You must fell passionately about whatever it is that you do, or what’s the point? We all came to this earth to find and fulfill our destiny, and that means that there aren’t any shortcuts. And as you tip toe through this mine field, please remember what your Mother told you: If it sounds too good to be true…..IT IS!!!!!

Let’s Complain About the Recession Only If These 4 Are True
I feel like I’m almost expected to complain at the sound of the “R” word when it comes up in conversation. But see, I refuse to complain. In fact, I say to business owners, let’s complain about the recession only if these 4 things are true for you in your business:
1) You obsess about marketing your biz
And I mean obsess in a good way – an unwavering determination to do consistent marketing. Most of the folks I work with are solo entrepreneurs who sell a service. We do our own marketing. Unfortunately, our marketing tends to be inconsistent. And from my experience that was true long before the “R” thing hit. It may be more accurate to say the recession exposed the flaws or weaknesses in many of our businesses – one of which is inconsistent marketing.
And I don’t mean spending more money on marketing necessarily. I mean we get creative and we become determined to discover more no-cost/low-cost marketing options. There are countless no-cost ways you can implement immediately.
As I always say “Marketing is the gas in your business engine.” So my question is this… How much are you obsessing about having a multi-pronged approach to consistently marketing your business in this new economy. If you’re not, you may not want to complain about recession just yet. You’ve got some untapped, income-generating marketing actions to take.
2) You have a consistent lead-capture strategy
Running out of leads/prospects? It may not be the economy’s fault. Take a look at your web site for starters. Make sure the very first page of your web site invites the visitor to take action – to give you their contact information in exchange for a valuable freebie. This grows your list of prospects every single day and gives you people to follow-up with.
And consider your other forms of marketing and how you make connections. Do you have a way to consistently identify your ideal prospects? And when they show up, do you have an irresistible freebie they would definitely want? If not, then you may not want to complain about the recession just yet. There’s an opportunity to plug up the holes in your prospect-attracting and prospect-capture process. The more you grow your list of prospects, the greater your opportunity for increased revenue.
3) You have a tenacious follow-up process
Of course, it’s not enough to get leads/prospects. We have to follow up. Take a look at your office desk. Is there a stack of collected business cards, notes to call someone back, and other clues that you have a flawed follow-up process? Here’s a true story… right now I’m practically begging another business owner to take my money. I’m the one doing the follow-up phone calls. I truly want what they’re selling yet they’re a little too busy to sell it to me. Hello?
If you’re guilty of not following up with prospects and other contacts… or, if you haven’t picked up the phone to connect with some strategic partners lately, then you may not want to complain about the recession just yet. There’s a golden opportunity to create a consistent, reliable follow-up process that turns into cash for your business.
4) You commit to massive profit-focused action
As entrepreneurs, we typically are not short on ideas for growing our businesses. We tend to be very creative. But we are often short on action. We get bogged down in the minutia of our businesses.
Might there be a stash of incomplete brilliant ideas that you can turn into money for your business? Is there an opportunity to change how you work each day so that you’re truly focused on profit-producing tasks vs. minutia? Then it may not be time to complain about the recession just yet. Wake up tomorrow with a bold and unstoppable determination to bring that idea to reality. Or, take a no-excuses approach to completing that major profit-generating project or task. It may just be the thing that brings in the clients and cash you need.

This was important to me, as I have been in business for 5 years and have certain ways of doing things.
So they actually customized the product pages for me so that the images were 300×400 and also that little thumbnail pictures of alternative images were viewable, you just hover your mouse over and it shows the bigger picture.
This is a really cool feature, as the person can see more images and angles before deciding to purchase. Some of my products had 10 different photos (or colours) and with the modifications they made for me, all these images were now available.
With my old site I just had 5 categories of products, and the store pages had a long list of things available to purchase. But with the new CMS website, we could actually add sub-categories to make it easier for people to find stuff.
This has worked really well. For example instead of just having “Clothing” section of our breastfeeding products, we separated this into Long Sleeve, Short Sleeve, Singlets subcategories.
I decided to have US, AUD, Euro – but could have chosen any.
I’m in New Zealand and they are in San Diego, but that has not hindered our work at all. It has actually been to my benefit, as when I am doing my work late at night, they are online too.
Sometimes they stay up to the wee hours of the morning when we are going through things together. I can never tell what time it is with them, as they work around the clock it seems, but it has definitely worked to my advantage.
Now I can spend my time with my family and handling sales which are pouring in since people have seen the new website and sales were good on the old site but this new site is SOOOOOO easy.
SEO for large Website
And SEO quote I did a few months ago, for a 200 page website, that was selling products that cost over $1,000,000 dollars each. The client only wanted people that were ready to buy their products to visit the site.
1. What is SEO and how would affect your website
SEO is a variety of marketing and optimization techniques that bring viable clients to an online business
not to look around but to purchase services or goods.
Some of these techniques are called Onpage SEO:
Onpage SEO is manipulation and fine tuning of the unseen code beneath a webpage. This information an SEO fine tunes tells the search engines and people doing searches for your products what’s on a particular webpage.
I write this Onpage code in a very specific way, which highlights some of the list of keywords and key phrases I am working with. This makes every page an entry page into your website and means that your website can appear highly in search engine search results for many phrases instead of only a few which
is what most SEO work towards.
Then there is Offpage SEO optimization and this can mean many, many different things… basically
known as link building in several different ways, and perhaps Pay Per Click(PPC) campaigns, paid
advertising on the types of websites your clients would be going to.
As you said on the phone, you aren’t interested in getting visitors who spend all their time at eBay; you
want visitors that are looking to buy your products that cost over 1 million dollars each.
So in this case I would suggest you do pay for advertising in some of the higher income places online, where your customers browse and shop.
Once my SEO changes begin taking affect it will compliment the work your marketing team is doing; think of SEO as an internet based marketing plan that uses very different techniques from traditional market strategies it is all about getting your brand and company recognized.
So the idea wouldn’t necessarily be to get clicks and visitors to your site (unless they are buying) , but to get your name being talked about in the right circles. I don’t know how much attention your marketing team is paying to the internet at this stage, but it is a very important part of advertising in today’s world. I will make your website a good point of introduction into your very specialized product.
What I can do for this website
1. I was mistaken when I first looked at your site, it isn’t all flash as I first thought; this is a very good. It
means I can start work and the changes I make will take effect immediately. I should be able to get this
site ranking very highly, within the first 2 or 3 rankings for any given search, although I haven’t checked
out your competition yet, I wouldn’t think you have a lot of completion.
2. I would first optimize all webpages so the Onpage SEO is relevant to the actual page content; at present,
most of your pages are competing with each other for search rankings.
3. While google is indexing this first round of onsite (another word for Onpage) optimization, I would then
do a lot of research into keywords that it should be optimized for. This entails perhaps 200 hours investigating keywords and the sort of things people search for, and then researching which pages would be best suited for which phrases and then adding to the optimization I first did. Google likes changes on websites, so making website changes close together is a good idea. I would also start some off page optimization; I have staff that does this type of work, who report to me several times a day.
4. All of the wording on the site is very hard to read, as it is stark white on blue; I have someone that could
change this making the words much easier to read. You have a beautiful website but it needs to be a
little more user friendly.
SEO Timeline
First let me say that I spend my whole day on a computer approx 16 hours a day, so if I say I will work on something for 50 hours this doesn’t mean it will take 8 days to do; it would be more like 3½ days. I work 7 days a week, totally addicted to my work; I’m mobility disabled, and don’t have a life away from the computer. ? I wasn’t quite sure how to set out this quote, as I have no idea of your budget.
The site seems to have a few problems that visitors will encounter, especially with the Navigation, and I would have them seen to immediately.
1. The first thing I would do is analyze the current website statistics (if they have any), see where your website visitors are coming from and how they are arriving at your website. We need to have a thorough understanding of where we are at so we can see where we have to go. If you don’t currently have access to website statistics, the first thing I would need to do is add Google Analytics code (we will get Analytics working for you anyway, but it is vital I get a good idea of the type of traffic your site is generating.
2. The initial Onpage SEO: for approximately 40 webpages 20?25 hours.
3. Search engine submission, Google and yahoo sitemaps, general Offpage optimizations 40 hours
4. Approx 200 hours researching keywords and website analyses, adding to the Onpage Meta material 100 hours researching the advertising campaign your marketing team establishes and perhaps complimenting their work with SEO tactics. 80?120 hours: starting a link building campaign, using several different techniques and strategies.
5. 30?50 hours handling anything as it comes up
6. Total Approx 500 hours 7?8 weeks
It doesn’t sound much, but that would take approx 6?7 weeks to complete full time work, although results would start to show with a couple of weeks for a site like yours, that is a mature site.
It isn’t advantageous to have too many links to a website appearing too quickly so link building would carry on for several months and rather than work on getting thousands of useless links, I’d suggest paying for a few good links that will help your pages ranking in google in the short term.
Ongoing work on a monthly basis should be seriously considered for at least 6 months after the initial
SEO work is done. This SEO work includes link building, constant (daily checking of statistics) and making changes or tweaking the Onpage optimization as required. Collating and submitting a month report, as to what’s happening with the site, and perhaps meeting with the marketing dept to discuss any new marketing strategies they maybe implementing; so I can see that the website is optimized correctly for the people that maybe searching for the site.
This work would average out to about 3?5 hours a day, so 120 hours a month, for 6 months.
Cost of SEO: I generally say that as a rule of thumb, that 10% of the yearly advertising budget should be spent on SEO. However this won’t be necessary for this project.
Initial SEO Approx 500 hours 7?8 weeks
? $37,500 2 payments 1 month apart $20,000 then $17.500
Ongoing SEO.
120 hours per month for 6 extra months = 720 hours
? $54,000 $9,000 per month Starting on the 3rd month after initial SEO is paid for.
Or $7700 per month for a year, and changing the monthly SEO to 60 hours per month.

I had a quote request this morning to rebuild a hand built website of over 1000 webpages, pages were built in a number of different programs including several versions of Corel WordPerfect and Frontpage
Rebuilding a large hand-built website onto an easier to manage CMS website can seem to the website owner a daunting prospect, but can cost much less than you would expect. Especially if the owner wants to help out with moving pages from the old site to the new website and they usually do want to stay in control of their website.

With the very limited information you have here and on the quote request, and looking at your site in Google, it looks as though you have about 1090 pages indexed by Google, and perhaps more not yet found.
I can see that one problem you have is lack of navigation on the site only links back to the home page. Still someone has worked long and hard on your site, how many visitors are you receiving now each month?
It would be irresponsible to give you a accurate quote for both the rebuilding and the SEO we’d need to discuss more, exactly what, if anything you are wanting to do to help, someone has worked hard on this site and maybe happy to carry on working. We have a website that would allow you and your staff to add pages yourself with ease,(CMS) and in fact we have just finished a website of 1700 pages, the owner did most of that work transferring pages from her old site herself.

Oddly enough, the SEO would be easier and cheaper than you would think for a very large site. Depending on the keywords and how competitive those keywords are.
In Saying that, a ballpark figure to rebuild the site could cost as little $3000 if you and staff did a lot of copy and pasting or as much as $25,000 (for 1090 pages) if we did everything ourselves, we could do the site ourselves in as little as a 4-6 weeks, perhaps less. We have staff we can call on to help.
We’d build the site on our servers, and move it to your hosting severs when everything is done so your website won’t be down for any longer than an hour in the changeover. The redirects from existing webpages would take a little longer, as they need to be done once the site is live.
SEO for the site again depending on the keywords and how competitive they are, could cost as anywhere from $10,000 to $100,000 but more likely closer to $12,000, SEO doesn’t require any help on your part, but the cost depends on the results you want to achieve … $12,000 which is what I usually charge for a 40-60 page website. I’d suggest starting with $12,000 and seeing what that achieves in a couple of months after the site goes live, and look at more if necessary. We could discuss this more during construction.
We do offer payment plans especially for the SEO to spread payments out over 6-12-18 months if more intensive work is required.
This will give you a starting point costwise, as I’m sure you have to talk to others.

Review for Content Managment System CMS
Review: For CANZ Designs Search Engine Friendly – Content Management System SEF-CMS
I have been working with Canz Design for the past few months, getting my new CMS site ready. My previous website was something I’d done myself, and had been using for the past 5 years, but it was reaching its limit because it was such a manual process for me to add new pages or new products. It was very time consuming and labour intensive to create the pages so that the side links would all update, and I would have to check my emails daily just incase a product had sold out, and would then have to update my website. I always had ideas on articles to write, and pages that my customers would fine useful, but it was always such a time consuming process.
I have been helping create the pages for the new site, and transferring everything over from my old site. But in the process, I added 1,000 extra pages of useful content because it was just so easy to make new pages. Even easier than writing blog posts. So my page number has increased from 700 to 1700 since the new CMS site is loaded. I am sure this will really help my google ranking – but will update you on that in a few months.
With the new CMS site I love how the menus are so easy to change, and navigation around the site is very easy for the shopper. But its also really easy for me to keep all my pages neatly filed in the different folders.
Canz design worked with me tirelessly to get the right look for the site. This was something that I was very conscious of, and wanted the site to look 100% perfect. To tie in with the image of my brand and existing use of colours.
Its been one week since we launched the new baby. I’ve definitely noticed an increase in the sale of obscure little products, the things that were slow sellers with my old site. It was probably because no body could find them or knew that I sold them. A lot of these “obscure” things, I have actually added as a small thumbnail “related product” at the bottom of popular pages, and it has helped increase the Add on Sales. Its really easy to do these things with the new site.
Preparing the new site beforehand did take a while, but there was plenty of opportunity for me to learn how the new system worked. Canzdesign loaded everything onto a temporary server for me, so that every page could be fully tested before we transferred it over. Then the transfer process took less than an hour, I was really surprised. It was almost like ‘click the switch’ and the new website was loaded. Not a single customer was inconvenienced.
I was initially quite dubious about changing to a new CMS site, but this has really made my life easier and I can see the benefits for the future. Although it has only been one week here are a couple of examples:
- A supplier notified me on Friday that they were discounting products by 25% for 72 hours. I decided to pass on the savings to my customers. Within 60 minutes I had discounted all the prices for about 40 products (of their brand) on the website, contacted my database of 7,000 to tell them about the quick sale, checked all stock available. Then my family and I actually went to Rotorua for the weekend, and I had no computer access. With my old website, I would have had to update the store pages when a certain size had sold out, to ensure that noone else would purchase it (so I had to be around whenever there was a web sale). But with the new CMS site, if a size sells out, it just drops out. So I did not need to worry about this at all. And just came home to lots of orders to pack.
- Another example, is for some of my products we have lots of different spare parts available. With my old site, I just had a long list of the parts available and people would email me for a quotation. This was purely because the thought of loading all those separate products into my old store was daunting, and I was too lazy. But today I loaded the popular spare parts, it was painless. This was something that I should have done at least two years ago, but had never got around too. Now people can just buy them online, and they don’t need to email me about it. So this will cut down on my workload too.
I’ll give you another update after we settle in, as it has only been a week.

Great SEO costs more than $1000
Getting great results in search engines for relevant keywords for your business, which is what good SEO means, isn’t something you can expect to pay one $1000 for.
But even if you are looking at say a budget of $5000-$10,000 for your business website to rank well in google, for many keywords/phrases, depending on the type of business you have and your competition you still can’t expect your website to rank #1 for a single word or even 2 word searches.
I can’t count the number of times I have had a client say they want to rank #1 for some generic word/s like Cars, motel, bar or real estate, and they are willing to pay $500 …. sorry, it aint going to happen.
Not even for 1000 x that budget, well ok, maybe half a million dollars it might be possible depending on the word, but it isn’t going to happen overnight, not even in 6 months. In saying that, in Australian Google one of my clients ranks #3 for the keyword gemstones, but still wikipedia gets 1st and 2nd place.
That same client does rank #1 and #2 for just the word gemstones if you do the www.google.com.au pages from Australia search Check here This site gets about 500 visitors a month for just the word.
This client has held these positions for the word gemstones for over 5 years after I finished doing her website optimization. At the time her optimization cost around $2500 I think. Even so, the word gemstones is a lot easier to optimize a site for, in a country specific search engine than if the site sold cars, or had a motel.
In general if you want to play with the big kids on the block in a search engine, you have to pay your SEO for the hugh amount of work they are going to have to do to get your site ranking that highly.
On the other hand for an odd word like Canz our businessname a search in google.com will see our sites ranking 3rd and 4th, thats not a lot of good to us, unless someone remembers out business name though huh.

Ruling Google for some keywords
Gone are the days when SEO meant just having 1 link to your website on the front page of google for some keyword/phrase.
For a few years now, I have been working on having maybe 3 or 4(sometimes 8 out of 10) links at least within those 1st 10 placements on the first page of google. Imagine a potential client or customers reaction when they see your businessname listed in places 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, or 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 8th, 9th and 10th on the first page of google.
Getting results like this isn’t easy, but it is doable, I have done it for 4 businesses in ‘09 plus our own websites for various phrases. If an estimated 89% of people click on a link, and spend money, on a result in the first page of google search results, then you increase your chances of getting someone $$ dramatically.
You’re investment in these sort of results isn’t going to be $1000, or even $5000, but if you are serious about your business, you could spend more than that on a full page newspaper add, that only seen for one day.

Organic SEO vs PPC
I am currently being courted by someone wanting SEO done (maybe), they currently spend $1000 a month on PPC and have been for over 2 years, and never had a sale and you can’t find the site in the SERP’s except for either the businessname or obscure key phrases.
I’m suggesting that they use the money they are spending on PPC on organic SEO… Organic SEO is ranking well in search engines naturally….
… the client to be is dithering, thinking that at least the site is getting about 500 visitors regularly… and can’t seem to understand… yet, that maybe a month or 2 with few visitors is worth it is if then the site ranks well in the search engines naturally without having to pay PPC forever more.

How Long does SEO Take? That’s a reason question, unfortunately the answer is it all depends. First do you mean
How long does SEO take to DO? In other words, if you hire an seo to do your seo, how long will it take for them to their magic tricks?
This really depends on your SEO budget, how skilled your SEO is, and how often google and other search engines are visiting your site…. and if your site is search engine friendly in the first place. With my clients, I generally start on the SEO fairly quickly.
I do basic SEO, things that will make the search engines take notice, and start looking around the site more frequently, while the search engines are doing their thing, I do research finding out what are the best SEO strategy’s for this particular site considering the budget.
implement those strategy’s which use the budget in the best way. then if the clients budget allows I will carry on with the SEO making the website rank well permanently for highly sort after keyphrases. So the answer is,
A few days from when the SEO starts, for basic seo.
How long does SEO take to WORK?
For the seo work to start to appear in search engine rankings, can take anything from a few hours, to a few weeks, a lot depend on how often search engines are visiting the site, and if the navigation within the site is search engine friendly. (that’s one reason I make quick changes, so I can see google progress through a site) I’m working on a site at the moment, it has over 300 pages, and yet google has only found 7 pages for a sitewide change I made over a week ago, just as a test.
Obviously something is very wrong. The problem is, the first results in search engines aren’t final. So if you have SEO done and your site ranks #3 within a few days, then chances are that ranking will only maintain for a short while, it depend a lot on how popular the keywords are you are wanting to rank highly for.
In saying above I have worked on sites that don’t want to rank for competitive keywords, or are niche sites, and their sites have ranked well quickly and stayed ranking highly for one phrase, we then branched out and started working on different keywords.

Great SEO what can you expect from SEO
Many times prospective clients expect a lot from SEO, yet don’t consider it is worth much paying for.
It is possible, I have done it several times, to have not only 1 of a sites pages listed at say #1 on the search results page, but also if enough is invested in a good SEO like me, to also have say 9 or 10 results on the first page of google search results, or any search engine for that matter.
At present, doing a search for
the first result for the map is our site then the next 11 results under the map are also for our SEO services here in San Diego. I could have done the SEO in such a way as to have 4 or 5 listings in the map section of the search, but didn’t want to be greedy…

but I’m happy with 3rd in the map section and 3rd 4th and 5th in the natural or organic seo results.

The support Staff of hide_my_ip program haven’t been able to “see” my replies to 11 emails I have replied to them asking for a refund, after their program didn’t work, so I’m posting the email I have emailed them 11 times here and will post it on facebook as well, they must be able to see it somehow. I have cut the same aol, same old replies from them out to make it easier for them to read.
I hope you can see it now, I’ll leave this here, so other people that might have the same problem can compare issues.

1. Are you visiting a website that is telling you what your real IP address is?
- If yes, please provide the URL.

2. What process or activity are you engaging in with your browser, if any, that indicates to you that your IP is not being hidden?
Analyzing website statistics, my usual IP has named so I can tell when I visited sites, and that IP is still the same as usual.
3. Are you receiving any error message from the software to indicate that the software is not functioning correctly?
No, it looks like the software is working, until I see my usual IP showing… that is why I didn’t ask for a refund earlier, and tried so hard to make this program work, I want it to work, but it isn’t.
- If so, type out the error message(s) in a reply.
4. What version of Hide My IP do you have? (1.9, 2007, 2008, 2009, 5.0) 5.0
5. What browser(s) are you using and if you’re using Firefox, have you installed our plug-in?

I don’t have the program anymore, after installing it on my laptop, I started to get bluescreens, and after unistalling and installing several times as instructed, with reboots after ever uninstall and reinstall, that laptop evenly wouldn’t start at all, it’s only 2 years old, or wouldn’t get past the windows start screen. I don’t know if it was the IP program, but it was the only thing I have installed in about 6 months, so I’m guessing it was.
I managed to get a copy of my emails, but otherwise I lost over 100 gigs of data I am trying to find on backup files, I really don’t have time to write these emails to you for a program that I think killed my windows installation, and that I don’t have anymore.I’m using another computer until my laptop can be reformatted.
I have lost enough, I just want a refund please.

I wrote complaining the issues soon after I installed the paid version, and was sent an email reply with a list of things to do. Nothing worked, the program kept saying it was working but when I checked on a what’s my ip type site the ip’s I was SUPPOSED TO Have wasn’t the IP it was showing, it was my same old IP I’ve always had.
I have since changed computers, and reformatted the old computer, there are no versions of the program anywhere, and I want a refund to my paypal account at lynny@canzdesign.com

1. There are 2 (or more) versions of the software installed in your computer 2. The computer was not restarted after the install and/or 3. The browser was still up and running during the install, it was not closed, and Hide My IP was activated when the browser was already running

Website Selling Gemstones, Rebuild and move to SEO friendly Website
A website selling gemstones the owners live Sapphire Australia has been a webdesign client and seo client for many years, the owner recently decided to move their site to our new cms website that is seo friendly, so search engines will rank it better than they already do.
The owner has always been able to add more gemstones or remove sold ones, but with the move she will now find it easy enough to edit her pages as well.

Realestate agents SEO and website redesign san diego
I was approached recently by a realestate agent in San Diego, he wanted a quote to do seo on his website. Looking at his site, he used a hinky search for homes in the San Diego county area, or it might be all area’s depending on the search made, this hinky search created “page not found” 404 pages that were riddled through search engine results, the site visitors well 90% of them left the site immediately… the site itself was built on some program that was supposed to be something that “All Real Estate agents” used, and generally looked like a home built site built on some crappy frontpage type web editor.
Logining into the editor for the site, it was one of the worst CMS websites I had ever seen, and I have seen some bad ones. It’s beyond me how the company that makes this website gets away with it’s changes of $35 a month to many many realestate agents to use this program, that incorporates this hinky home search. I guess it must have been a good marketing team at the web design place, that must have written to all realestate agents in at least San Deigo and told them all they had this website especially designed for real estate agents, these real estate agents must have all decided to use this crappy website…. So whats wrong with the site or right with it… Well there’s very little right with it at all, the eaisest part of the admin area is to login it all goes down hill from there…. the pages are differcult to edit, you can’t delete old pages you no longer want it seems, adding any new aps also seems impossible. The funny or really the sad thing is, although the San Diego home search isn’t a bad search, it’s actually the way it’s inserted into the site itself that creates these 404 pages, it would be a piece of cake to add to a new CMS.
Hell I could do it, it just means adding a few lines of code to a site… in the correct place, and I don’t build websites, but if real estate agents looked a little furthur afield they could have nice looking and acting websites that that had the search with it. I told this real estate agent, that rather than try to fix the site he had, he’d be better to rebuild, the new site would be search engine friendly right from the start, and only need some minor tweaking to have it ranking highly in search engines, for hundreds of relevant searches.
He couldn’t see how, I explained that since so many realestate agents used the same website program, that was such SEO unfriendly webpages, a well optimised website would rule over other real estate websites.
I quoted him $3500 for a new site redesign for 60 odd pages, plus extensive seo, and offered that he could pay the site off over 6 months…. at which he said that no real estate agent would ever consider paying that much for a website, or seo…. he couldn’t seem to understand that it was for a professional website and professional SEO.
So if theres another realestate agent in San Diego, but really anywhere that would like a a website design or redesign or website makeover, and wants their new website to rank better in search engines, contact us, we’ll do the site for $1500 down, and $350 a month for the following 6 months.

YES if you are sick of your old webhost, or think you are paying too much for web hosting, we can suggest another one if you are paying more than $10 a month where you could host as many websites and blogs as you like, for $9.95 a month or $100 a year. We are very experienced at moving websites, you website will not be offline at all, one second it will be your old website the next it will be your new one. You can of course find your own new webhost if you would like.
Will all the page names stay the same? YES if you would like them too, often with an older site links have been made to a site and to a specific page name, and you don’t want to lose that link, so keeping old page names is important. If on the other hand you are wanting to make your site more search engine friendly, page names can be changed, and instant redirects can be set up.

Cheap websites are they worth it?
Cheap websites are you considering getting one? I have suggested before you would be wise to get a cheaper website, and spend more on SEO, but there’s cheap and then there’s cheap.
Cheap websites can look very nice and professional, but they have their problems, that are worth considering before you decide to steam ahead and get a website for $400-$800.
Indian web site designers, generally make a very cheap website, mainly because all they are doing is using a ready made site, and adding the content, it’s when you want customizations after the web site building has become that problems start.
And a $500 website can quickly turn into a $2000 + website. I have seen or heard about this happening time and again. Something that is actually a very simple change in a website will suddenly cost an outrageous amount.
The worst case I was witness to, and a really mean worst, was a change that ended up costing $50 with another php developer, was quoted as costing $20,000, the thing was the email these Indian web design people sent, made the cost seem very feasible, if you didn’t know how websites actually worked.
Another trick is to quote for a very cheap website, which is quickly built, then while working out the specifics or customizations the price climbs and climbs, but you are already so far into the project, you usually can’t back out, or want to start all over again.
For the most part Indian website developers will seem very very worthy of your custom, they will ring you up and talk to you for long periods of time, write very long and involved emails, making the simple seem an evolved.
With our small website design team they know that changes or new ideas will happen as the site takes shape, there’s a certain amount out give and take, and defiantly big changes are at in line the original design and building price. So how long does it take for SEO to work?
How many months does SEO take? When can I expect SEO to start working? These are all valid questions, it seems that every seo website you go to will say a different thing…. the plain truth is.
If a website has been online for a few months, and if the search engines have found and indexed your site, SEO will start working within a few days, from the SEO finishing the initial SEO, the best result I ever have had was 32 hours …. yes… thirty two hours from when I did the initial SEO, results started showing in search engines.
This site I’m talking about did not show in google search results for any phrase at a spot less than 70th place. The site had been online for 2 years, and had had no visitors at all through search engines.
I started working with the website as soon as I had the information to login to the site the same day the payment check cleared, I did some basic on the 10 main pages, just to say, hey google watch out Lynny’s from Canz SEO extraordinaire is on the job, and went to bed…. well come on it was late, the owner didn’t said me the login info until after midnight… ok so I went to bed.
I then spent the next day 20 hours researching what words would be the most effective, for this website, and though, whoops I forgot to to run my little programs that give me a baseline to work with, so I worked out a list of 50 keywords and ran the program while I was doing the last of the research.
By the time the baseline program I used was finished it was almost 32 hours since I had done some very basic seo…. and to my amazment 10 keywords were ranking in google in the top 3 positions.
One set of keywords for each page I did. I have to admit thats the quickest I had every seen changes actually get into google search results… but then I had never checked that early before. Ever since, many times with an existing site I have checked after 2 days and results are starting to be listed in google, it like with a old website google is just aching to rank it better, but can’t if it’s not optimised, but once it is, google likes to give almost instant gratifaction.

Internal Linking, linking within your own site
I’ve recently taken part in a conversation about internal linking, and thought I would share that conversation with you.
Internal linking is like it sounds, is linking within pages of the same site.
Oliver another group member, was saying that internal linking was important, but it had to be done the right way, and not just willy nilly, and linking from brown shoes to a brown truck isn’t as worthwhile as linking brown shoes to a page with other brown clothing, while this is true to an extent, it’s not generally the case, because of the nature of a web site which is usually pages related to other pages with the same theme.
I haven’t seen any proof that brown shoes should only be linked to other pages with brown clothing, and not to brown furniture or brown trucks. I would very much like to see proof of that working to give more link juice to a page.
It makes sense to link from pages of brown clothing to other pages of brown clothing, just for the visitors convenience but I don’t think or I should say I haven’t seen evidence that Google has some sort of list of all possible clothing items and give a link 2 less brownie point for a link to a brown car rather than a brown hat.
It might be true that linking between pages that had other types of similes like, brown blouse and brown dress, that were both woman’s clothes, and had similar sizing, and were all brown might make a difference, but then in real life stores online that sell those sort of products usually sell all colors and sizes for a particular style on the same page. but the idea is there.
Mens Brown shoes, style c4, manufacture name x, color number 101 to Mens brown shoes style g9, made by manufacture name x, color number 101 would probably have more juice, but just because of the other factors.
I suppose this sort of example could be used to “show” a client how valuable your SEO advice was, because it sounds good, and like it might be right, but is it actually one of the parts of an Googles Secret Recipe for ranking a page, I think not, but like I said I would like to be proved wrong.
Google is after all, just a database, that searches for exact words and phrases, and now is looking for similar to words or means the same as words and phrases, and matches them up, granted it does a fantastic job of matching that words and phrases, but it’s not thinking for itself yet…. or is it…. lol…

SEO is too good, our business can’t cope!!!
I’ve had 2 SEO clients ask me within 2 days, if there’s a way to un-optimized their website. They had no idea what a difference SEO could make, and are unprepared for the influx of new business.
Another client mentioned a few weeks back that her stocks were getting very low, and she had more sold gems on her site than ones for sale, I recently went and deleted over 250 products off her site, just to help her out, she has a slow internet connection in outback Australia…
Its an interesting problem, everyone that is looking for SEO is looking for more sales, more patients, more something from their websites, but I don’t think any of my clients have thought ahead.
What is the back-up plan when the SEO really REALLY works? Ok so they could maybe handle twice or even three times as many orders, as there are now.
But what happens when the order’s have become 20 or 30 fold order’s within 3 months, when trips to the post office to post orders off, used to be a couple times a week, and are now 3, 4 or 6 times a day.
What happens if the 3 emails you receive a week asking about your services, suddenly turns into 20 a day. What happens if say a doctor’s office is used for getting say 5 or 6 new patients a month from various advertising, and suddenly it’s up to 25 one month and 55 new patients the next month, there’s still all the original patients that need seeing too, people often need to see the doctor quickly…
Have you ever thought what would happen, or have any strategy’s worked out, if suddenly your business became super successful, or are you still struggling with getting your business to pay the rent or even hosting for your website… I’d suggest you spend a little free time working on a success plan, find out who has the best parcel pick-up and delivery service, work out how long it would take to hire and train new staff members, look at the price of a bigger premises, whatever your business would need if it became successful within 2 months, plan for success|!!!
Even looking at if you want to expand your business, do you want to be bother with staff, with renting premises, or if you just want to have you business as a paying hobby, or even just an income for your family, it would still pay to think ahead, and maybe when thinking about getting SEO tell your seo what you expect, maybe the cost of the seo could be reduced.
Personally I have never heard of anyone asking their SEO to cool it or stop, although i have done it myself for our own sites, when things got to busy, most people I’ve come across are happy with a minimal increase in sales of whatever type, but with the recession, and working out some excellent SEO techniques for myself, I have begun supercharging my clients websites, maybe I’ll have to tone it down a bit myself
There’s a belief system of some group or other, that what you think about will come into being, perhaps if you plan for success you won’t even need me as your SEO lol….

I’m sure you have heard that getting links to your website is the best way to Get your site on Google, although this is correct, the number of links you have to get to your website to Get on Google Search is massive if you don’t have the right type of link.
What is the right type of link?
That’s really difficult to explain, there are so many variables, but very basically,
a link from a page
- that has high pagerank of it’s own
- is of the same subject matter
- is optimized for the same thing as the page it’s linking too,
- where the link words are well thought out
Will give you the best results, of course getting all those criteria is almost impossible, but that’s are a good list to keep in mind.

Dentist gives a reference for SEO work

Web Designers, Get you act together Dudes…
I’ve had occasional to use IE7 and google chrome, for the past few days instead of my usual firefox, which keeps crashing,.
Firefox is the browser of choice of many web designers, and it seems they are really getting lazy, and not checking the websites they are building are working in other browsers, because I went to many of my usual sites, which worked just fine in firefox, but which just froze up IE, couldn’t do a darn thing, now come of guys…. and most often web designers are guys, so come on guys, get your act together, and even if you won’t have IE on your computer, get together with someone that does, and get them to check your work.
My partner is a web designer, and sure she works with most firefox too, but always and did you hear me, ALWAYS before a site goes live it is checked in the main browsers, I know cause I’m her beta tester, so I troll through her sites trying out each feature in each of the 4 browsers I have installed, while she does opera.
Since I do SEO, I can tell you most website visitors still use IE this comes from a cross sections of different websites, are still using but statistics say that anywhere from 48% on a graphic design website, through to 86% on an e-commerce site that had over 20k visitors are still using IE
get with the Program guys, firefox is still only used by 20-32% of the general joe public, you know those folks that go to websites and BUY things…. you may think they are all spoons and should change, but the thing is the change over is slow and until people change you have to code your sites for all browsers,.
I know in general most web designers don’t care about anything about a website past their final payment, and don’t care if the site does any business, but still guys give your clients a fighting chance, make there websites work for at least 95% of the people visiting it, For websites that work in all popular Browsers contact Kym at www.canzdesign.com SEO Services San Diego

Note to the average reader, this post is not the easiest to read, I just had to let off steam.
I’ve had an seo client for 2 months, and give up on as a client that isn’t ever going to learn, and I haven’t got the time or energy to do their SEO anymore. Whats wrong you may ask? With this client, I have done 50 hours of unpaid work for them, cleaning up the code for their website, to make it easier for me to work on in the future… plus the $350 worth of SEO worth each month.
I’ve done the same work, both clean-up and SEO work 2 times now, and each month once their payment clears I go back to the site to download the latest versions of the pages to work on, which is a just good habit to get into, in case some change has been made, these should be exactly the same as what I uploaded the previous month, since I’m supposed to be the only person working on the site.
But each time the work I did the previous month has been overwritten with older versions of the site, and not has it been overwritten, it was overwritten with a couple of days of me doing and uploading it.
So all the work I have done is undone, before google has even seen it. The first month I thought the old SEO had hacked the site, and since i had a hard-drive die on me, I didn’t have the files I uploaded, so redid the work, and re-uploaded it straight away, at the beginning of March, I again discovered the code was the old one, so cleaned it up and redid the SEO work.
Now the owner, really can’t see why I shouldn’t do it again. The client swears it’s not anyone there that doing this, but today I get an email saying uploads have been done, they were supposed to upload 5 or so pages.
Since I had done this months SEO already, and uploaded it on Saturday,(because I got sick of waiting for these 5 pages to be uploaded, it’s been almost a month getting here, and the website owner was bitching that I hadn’t worked on his site), and I agreed to redo these 5 pages. when they got around too uploading them….. so I go to look at the pages in the file manager , every single page including the google verification file has been uploaded over my SEO work done on Saturday.
It turns out that the sites owners staff have done all sorts of work to the site they never bothered to tell me about, so it’s not just a case of reuploading the work I did, the business owner was most put out when I said I wouldn’t redo the work yet again on the new pages uploaded today.
Even though I explained first that I had done 60 hours this month getting the site fixed again, his response was well you can do it again.
Before this happened today, he wrote on the weekend after I finished uploading saying they couldn’t afford to pay me for a couple of months, with the insinuation that my SEO work wasn’t working….
OF COURSE THE SEO IS NOT WORKING…… IT’S BEING OVERWRITTEN EVERY MONTH……..Faster than I can do the work.
So I again have another SEO space in my timetable. So anyone out there wanting SEO Consultancy I’m sick of offering SEO Services.

Time wasters, either you want seo or don’t
Although this was a quick exchange, I’m so sick of getting “poor me” requests for me to spend hours and hours of my time, for a share of the profits generated.
I get these requests all the time, and they just an keep coming… Sure I see clients that are now receiving 10’s of thousands and I wouldn’t mind a bit of the action, but it would have to be a lower initial SEO rate and a % of income.
And you know the oddest thing, NO ONE that I have ever suggested this too, have ever taken me up on it, I’m talking about serious seo clients, they really see the value of SEO, and see they would be way out of pocket if the gave me say .05% of their income forever and a day. Rather than just pay me for my seo services. I have a fellow SEO that did this 3 times, and all was well until it came time to pay, then the fighting started over where did the visitor come from, was it the search engines work my friend did, or one of the 500 visitors that were already finding the site in search engines. And how much did the site really generate that month, And then the owners will throw in a clause that it’s only profits, and of the $2000 earned this month from some low replacement cost item, had to be spent on buying a new car, meanwhile my friend is wondering how he’s going to pay for his internet connection this month. I think what annoys me most is when I pick up on a lie, like this guy, he could afford my “Services” but didn’t feel he had to pay me, and although his services are worth money, mine aren’t. No SEO or web designer worth their salt will go for these deals, and yet these requests just keep coming. Once I suggested to a client, who had offered me 20% of her income from her site, I would be happy to do it, they had a good product, and I could see a Market for it, I suggested that she transfer the domain name, I’d host the site, and paypal payments would come to me, and I’d send on their share, up until then everything was going well, all of a sudden, this client was slipping and sliding all over the place, and sent me a long email explaining, that they didn’t even make 20% profit on many products, and they had bills they had to pay and stock they had to rebuy, and a zillion other reasons, they couldn’t possibley have it work this way…. I just laughed and sent back an email suggesting that I wasn’t asking for anything they hadn’t suggested, except I would know how much they were making….. If I devalue myself or my worth, then clients will see my work as worthless also. I’m not hard hearted, I have one client that pays me $75 a month, out of her wages from work, and then does the work I advise her about each month herself, another client that does work for me, mostly online research, in return for the seo work I do for her. With both these clients the work is slow, but they are getting there. Oh, I have another women that writs content for me, in return for seo advice. You say, you are willing to return the response for higher ROI with results, does that mean you work without pay until your clients are making such a profit they can afford to pay you? Even Indian SEO’s require payment before they start work and they work for peanuts, mind you that’s all there work is worth. My clients are all astonished with the return they get for my SEO $, all of them have stopped using PPC, printed advertising, or any other form of paid advertising, within 3 months of starting working with me. It doesn’t take long to see a $1000 outlay turns into $1500 monthly profit. lol… I even have a client that took out a personal loan for $7.5k to pay me to do SEO… that has worked extremely well for his business, he finished SEO over 6 months ago, and is make far more than the loan was for per month from his online business. All my clients blab to other businesses, so I get regular offer’s of work. ROI for SEO by CANZ
I’ve just written another page for my site, about the Return on Investment(ROI) my SEO clients are are receiving, it’s pretty impressive if I do say so myself.
My clients on average are getting a 100% return on their investment is my seo services within 3 months, and then getting at least a 100% return each month after that. These figures are for existing websites that have been online for 2-5 years, usually with no sales at all, although one client I’m offering SEO consultant services too, did have a very good monthly turnover before we start, it’s just 3 times as much now after 7 months.
My clients are happy campers, and most are happy to increase the amount of SEO they are receiving.
All except one client, who was happy to increase what she was paying me, but I told her that it would be best to give the SEO we had done a rest for 3 months, let it all settle down, and see how things were, then in Auguat we’d look at doing another blize on the SEO in time for next Christmas.

This site has gone from strength to strength, Back in August 09 it had a PR2 when the owner first contacted me about being her seo consultant, it then went to PR3, then PR4, now it’s jumped a whole point and gone straight to PR 6. … Ever seen a crippled person dance, cause I’m trying to now lol…
What will this mean for her now, very successful website, well more success of course, when this client first contacted me she had, what most would consider a successful website, she was getting around 9000 visitors a month on average, and regular sales, that were bringing a good income into the house, now she is getting 17,500 visitors a month average over the past 3 months and sales have almost tripled. So even though visitors haven’t quite doubled, the visitors are now more targeted, and reaching her website credit card in hand.
Back before we started, only 141 web pages on her site were receiving visitors through search engines, last month, that was up to 307, remember February is a short month.
More statistics you say… ok,
Last month her key phrases increased from 1546 in July 08 to 4724 different key phrases for February 09… what does that mean, well in search engines people found her website for 4724 different phrases, different ways of searching for the products and information she has on her website.
I talked…wrote about Keyphrases in another blog I called Google Adwords vs SEO back in January 18, 2009
Anyway it means more of her pages are being found, ranking very highly in google I might add, for more people searching for what she has to offer.
Here’s a graph that shows how highly these phrases rank in google.co.nz the search engine she’s most wanting to do well in.it sort of says it all. I tested the top 350 words that brought 50 or more visitors to the site, after removing all searches that were direct searches for the versions of the website name or business name.
Out of the top those 4890 different keywords people used in search engines this month to find the website the top 350 referring keywords I tested, the pie graph shows what % of keywords rank in www.Google.co.nz

So 89 % of 350 keywords ranked between #1 and #5 in google.co.nz
Sales from her site were now coming from not only New Zealand, but also from the United States, Great Britain, Australia, China, Canada, Philippines, Germany, Singapore, and Netherlands, and Russia in that order.
Making international sales was one of her goals when we started our SEO consultation contract.

San Diego Dentist See’s Results of SEO
Dentist in Chula Vista, SD Loves Results of My SEO Services. I’m doing SEO on few websites for a San Diego Dentist, it’s part of a large project doing 4 different websites.
This dentist has had a website for 3 years, and never had a patient from come to him after seeing his site. Ok, so Kym head of graphic design and website development from CANZ Design rebuilt the site… and is still working on it… but almost done. I the SEO, have highly targeted a few keywords, the procedures that he loves doing including Braces and Implants. So far they have had only 703 visitors to the site since it opened, on the 24th of January, honestly I have to admit, probably about 100 of those visitors have been Me, working on the SEO on the CMS that runs the site… J
The site opened on January 24th ‘09.
January: No new patients in the first 7 days, no big surprises there… February:– 2 new patients one for Braces, and one for Emergency Weekend Dental Care in San Diego. March: 1st – 15th
Wait for it… Drum roll Please, only 199 visitors in the first 15 days of March 09 …. not that impressive huh…. ok, undrum roll that… Click this Link, the picture won’t display well in this blog. http://seobycanz.com/images/Dentist-march-1-15.JPG What is Impressive, and a really big drum roll now, is the number of new patients, this San Diego Dentist Received, via his website… 12 new patients.
Update: 16 visitors became patients in the month of March, that’s 4% of visitors all visitors to his site for March, became new patients. That’s pretty darn impressive I think,

I decided to go to the website of and order the Free Months Supply of Juvenon™ I went through the site checkout, where it try’s to sell you all sorts of gets pills and even doggy treats, I clicked the no button all the way through the

at the end of the process instead of being able to view your cart, you suddenly end on a page saying you just paid $95 bucks, there’s no way to go back, you can’t even go back to the home page until you close your browser, removing the end part of the url so theres only the domain name left, and hitting enter will just show tiy the recipt over and over.

I know how website carts work, I have helped design many e-commerce websites. this site it programmed to not to trick you, but to actually ignore what you have ordered, and and add a product worth $79.95 to your cart.
Juvenon™ I made triple sure, I even used Paypal’s secure one purchase temporary credit card’s, so they couldn’t charge me for more products at the end of the month. I didn’t have enough money in my account, and knew I didn’t, and yet the website ripped me off, so I will end up paying the bank charges of $35 for overdrawing on my credit card, plus other fee’s, and the person I spoke to said, it

After this happened, I rang phone number they were advertising on the tv, and the person that answered, said he could only take an order, and not cancel them, he also said I was stupid for using a credit card on a website, and thats why I should have rang them rather than using the phone number supplied.

Remember this post I made ages ago about Bruce Clark or Clarke of Aotea Hosting, well he’s got himself on TV in New Zealand for abusing a client, this is a post I made on a forum, which sort of said it all.

I specialise in making websites findable in search engines, and he actually sent us a quote request last night that I found very offensive. In the other services part of the quote form, he wrote that he wanted “sex” I have been to both links, and the one at http://tvnz.co.nz/fair-go/fair-go-ao…-2516659/video there on sound for the national bank add at the start, but no sound for the interview.
And the other link won’t show for anyone outside NZ, I might see if there’s a way to pay to watch one thing. Watching the first link with no sound was pretty bad, but I would quite like to hear the words, especially when they had him as a puppet, that was pretty funny to watch, but knowing how he abused us or me when he was unhappy with something, I can just guess what he said.
OK, I just checked the url before I submitted this post, and the sound works now…. actually wish I hadn’t heard it now, it brings back memories of the C**P he said to me, that got me so upset, and that had such devastating effect on me, about 18 months ago…. that Bruce Clark of Aotea is still definitely is nuts and needs help, he’s lost the plot……..

E-Commerce Website Gets lots of sales after SEO service

I have one particular client that I’ve written about before, that is my pride and joy, she owns a breastfeeding Products e-commerce store in New Zealand.
She and I have worked together on her website since August 08, well she’s done the work, I have just told her what to do, with my SEO consultant service and she is always exceeding my expect ions, if I say to do 5 things she’ll do 8, she really is a wonderful young woman.
Her sales have increased as have the visitors to her website she’s asked my not to say how much sales have increased, but she’s been making a comfortable living of the site for herself and family. Her visitors have also increased dramatically, and if you work it out she’s making an average of $2 for every single visitor to her site I know many people that would be happy to earn that much, but not the owner of this online store, she’s out to add another 1/4 as many visitors again this month as she had last month, which was a massive increase of visitors and sales itself.
Within the few months we have been working together, she has gone from the getting the odd order from overseas, to getting order’s from everywhere in the world several times a day. The courier services she must have to use by now to take away her orders, must know the whole family buy name by now.

Several factors affect the answer to that question. The area in which you reside is a major factor. Pay could be from $15 to $19 per hour if you live in a ritzy area. For those who reside in a middle class neighborhood, $10 to $15 dollars an hour should cover it.
How many children you are babysitting should be considered.
Babysitting on nights like New Years Eve can be most lucrative. Years ago for the year 2000 New Years Eve, I babysat 5 children from 5 families, and was paid and was paid $150 per family.
Are you babysitting for 2 or more families?
Are you babysitting at your home or theirs?
Whose paying to get you home, or does the job involve you staying over and feeding children the next morning?
Your age is also something that has a bearing on how much you charge. Now that I am 18, I get paid more than I did when I was 13.
My best advice is check with your friends to find out what they charge per hour. This will give you a better feel for how much to charge.

one website many domain names ( url’s )
Many websites have more than one url or domain name, there are several reasons for this, one is because a company might want to own all the different domains for the name of their business, eg.
A website I’ve started doing seO for, selling soft fish bait called slam has all these domain names.

slamsoftbait.com
Other website owners have many domain names that are quite different and might contains the product or services the businesses the offers for sale.
The domain names above are the product brand name, and the keywords that explain what the products are. So are perfect domain names.
Many places that offer website hosting don’t allow their clients to have multiple domains hosted, so before you go off buying a heap of domain names, make sure your website host allows domains names to be parked rather than just point at the original website. Which means that even if you have another name as soon as the weboage opens, the name will revert to the original one.
Our website host offer’s a domain name parking service and we have several different domain names pointed at the one website, sometimes we are just waiting for the domain name to mature, other times they are there, because a website will rank better in search engines, if the names of the products they sell are in the domain name.

Getting on Google – Getting Your Website on Google2
In my last post about getting on Google, I posted it before I was finished writing it something came up, anyway I’m back to post more. In the meantime I had a good comment for the last post.
In the comment he referred to an SEO business he had found that that had given him an affordable price, and touched base daily.
I’ll look at affordable prices first, affordable is a relative term, what I consider affordable you may consider cheap, what you consider affordable, I may consider cheap. I have given quotes from $100 a month, to $11,000 a month, it goes without saying that the progress is slower for $100 a month. And $11,000 a month is almost a full time job. Getting on Google could be a lot less or a lot more expensive than you would think.
I always ask a client to give me some sort of idea what their budget is, as it’s no good giving a quote for $11,000 or even $1000 a month if their budget is only $250 a month. It’s far less time consuming to just make the quote for what is in their price range. It might be of interest, that the client that is paying $11,000 doesn’t even reply to my emails tell him how well his site is doing each month, whereas the client that’s paying $250 a month, writes most days to tell me how many sales she has had, and what is generally happening with the business.
