Does SEO really work? On-site vs Off-site SEO Organic SEO

So does SEO really work,… really… well my seo services are the best, and proof is in the results.

to prove a point, the site below has several domain names, one domain name (URL) has the exact same onsite seo on… the old way of doing seo, but I didn’t do any off-site seo on, that domain has had only 2 sales in alltime.

Let me explain, The other domain names, are so well seo’ed off-site they show in google so highly, for many searches the first 4-6 results for relevant keywords are links to  these sites, There are a also quite a few searches where all 10 results on page 1 of google are all for this site.

the domain (url) name is showing in search results but not until the page 2 of google…

It certainly goes to show though, that SEO does in fact work. If the SEO is done correctly by me, it does work anyway.

Like I say, I’m not cheap, but I get results. Write to help1@seobycanz.com or visit my website http://getresultswithseo.com

so they do work here’s some results for one website

The $15,000 (USD) investment made in my seo services in mid March 2010 for 3 global websites, was returned in profits before the past post in June 2010,

I stopped doing SEO on this site back in Mid July 2010. I did 4 months SEO in total.
I won’t need to do anymore SEO now unless he ad’s new products, and wants more work done.

Good SEO worth every penny

When SEO is done correctly you can get some awesome results

with a wise business owner laughing all the way to the bank.

is you haven’t read the past post I made back in July about a website I did seo on since March 21st 2010 read it now.
Website Marketing New Online Store Update.

Back on July 1st, I wrote the above post are about how sales have increased since the website went live in Dec 09.

As an update, my prediction for sales in July 2010 was 150, it was actually 153 different sales so I was pretty close..  oh I may as well copy the sales from that post and update them to the end of Sept.

These are only separate sales, only 15% of the sale were for only 1 item, 56% were for 2 and the other 29% of sales were for 3 or more products, several of this 29% have been for more than 10 different items.
The site has not used any other form of advertising since APRIL 17 2010, just the SEO I did back until the end of June. No SEO has been done since June.
The $15,000 (USD) investment made in my seo services in March 2010 was returned in profits before the past post in July 2010, so all profits for the sales below in red are for the website owner to use as he wishes.

Better Website Statistics far superior to Google Analytics

I’ve been using a new website analytics (Website Visitor Statistics), is is by far superior to Google analytics, it works the same way, you add a piece of code to the footer of your website or blog. These analytics track your visitors in real time so you could change things on your website immediately to improve sales or whatever. Just one of the features you can watch on a world map, the visitors that are on your site in real time, and can see what clicks they make all the second they click a link.

Follow that link, go visit the site and sign up for at least a free version, You’ll love all the things you can do, Click Here
Still need convincing? Read on.

Another feature that is awesome is the IP Tracking, you can set a goal like a sale complete through PayPal, setting a goal not that amazing right. What is amazing is you can track any visitors IP for indefinitely with the version I use, or for 30 days with the free version, tracking an IP address means you can see if they have visited the site before and what they did on each visit. Helps keep me the best SEO

Here’s an example:

I just checked the history of someone that brought a costume on vassup.co.uk this visitor came to the site from a bookmark or direct address typed in the address bar, the first url they landed on was too long to have typed, so it had to have been a bookmark. A bookmark means they have been to the site before right… so I looked at that IP’s history.

10 days ago that visitor came to the site from link on a blog post I made.

they made 8 clicks, stayed 3m 43s, so they had a bit of a look around but they first looked at a product that was out of stock.

5 days later ago came back and checked on particular product, 2 clicks, they stayed only 7s, the product was still out of stock.

Today they came back and had a good look around, went to another blog the site has, came back looked around again, 18 clicks stayed for 17m 16s and brought the costume they had been looking at 5 and 10 days ago. After they brought the costume they looked at 4 more pages of other fancy dress costumes…

3 Hours after they brought the costume, they came back again 2 clicks, and looked at the costume they had brought for 1m 9s. Then I looked at another part of this analytics that track visitors and social media usage, this person made a tweet about the costume they had brought.  From that tweet 9 other visitors have been to site so far today.

Ok, for your voyeurs out there that would love to see website or blog statistics like this in real time, the site offers a free account for a single website or blog, there are certain limits, like you can only track 1 website,  tracking an IP, like I illustrated above, for 30 days rather than unlimited, but hey it’s free.

For the first 21 days you get a free trial of the Pro service, I upgraded from the free version to the super pro version after 22 hours, I loved the analytics so much. Now I I’m tracking most of my current clients analytics…

Ok, so your all wondering what this awesome website analytics (Visitor Statistics) is right. Follow that link, go visit the site and sign up for at least a free version, You’ll love all the things you can do, Click Here

How long does seo take? San Diego SEO

How Long does SEO Take? That’s a reason question, unfortunately the answer is it all depends. First do you mean

How long does SEO take to DO? In other words, if you hire an seo to do your seo, how long will it take for them to their magic tricks?

This really depends on your SEO budget, how skilled your SEO is, and how often google and other search engines are visiting your site…. and if your site is search engine friendly in the first place. With my clients, I generally start on the SEO fairly quickly.

I do basic SEO, things that will make the search engines take notice, and start looking around the site more frequently, while the search engines are doing their thing, I do research finding out what are the best SEO strategy’s for this particular site considering the budget.

implement those strategy’s which use the budget in the best way. then if the clients budget allows I will carry on with the SEO making the website rank well permanently for highly sort after keyphrases. So the answer is,

A few days from when the SEO starts, for basic seo.

How long does SEO take to WORK?

For the seo work to start to appear in search engine rankings, can take anything from a few hours, to a few weeks, a lot depend on how often search engines are visiting the site, and if the navigation within the site is search engine friendly. (that’s one reason I make quick changes, so I can see google progress through a site) I’m working on a site at the moment, it has over 300 pages, and yet google has only found 7 pages for a sitewide change I made over a week ago, just as a test.

Obviously something is very wrong. The problem is, the first results in search engines aren’t final. So if you have SEO done and your site ranks #3 within a few days, then chances are that ranking will only maintain for a short while, it depend a lot on how popular the keywords are you are wanting to rank highly for.

In saying above I have worked on sites that don’t want to rank for competitive keywords, or are niche sites, and their sites have ranked well quickly and stayed ranking highly for one phrase, we then branched out and started working on different keywords.

Links Directory’s do NOT raise your Google page rank

It is a common disbelief that adding your website to directories all over the web will raise your own sites pagerank. Especially if those directories have high page rank themselves.

This for the main part is NOT true, it doesn’t matter how high a directory’s pagerank is, but the time it get’s to a level where your site is listed, the page rank is zero, and will never get any higher. There are a few directories that have been around for years, that are worth adding your site to like dmoz but the rest of them, and programs like the pageranksubmit.com are a waste of money, if all you want to do is raise your page rank.

See this is generally how pagerank seems to work the home page of a site will have the highest page rank, links direct off that homepage, that are links that don’t use JavaScript or flash, have a page rank one point lower than the home page, and then pages off these pages that aren’t using JavaScript or flash to make the links have a page rank of 2 less than the home page, this is generally how it works, unless the second level of pages have a large amount of links, which directory’s do then the pagerank is lost by the second page, and often you have to click in 5 or 6 links deep before you get to a place to add your website.

There is no page rank there, and if there’s no page rank on the page your link is on, then it doesn’t have any effect on your pagerank.

So don’t waste your money paying a high rice for directory submissions to directories with high page rank, usually the reason they have high page rank, is because they have used code, stopping the page rank from draining into links inside their site.

Just use a cheap directory submission place, this one charges only 14 cents per submission, and yes it’s a affiliate link but I only recommend products that I use, and this is one of the few things I do use.

What is Website optimization or Optimisation?

The term website optimization — or optimisation, as the British spell it — refers
About Links
to a number of techniques that are utilized to ensure that your website appears on the first page of search results in various search engines.

Because people search for things in different ways, the important issue regarding “Search Engine Optimization” is that you want your site to appear high in searches for hundreds or perhaps thousands of search phrases, not just a few.

If I don’t account for the possibility that you, the search engine user, will find your way to my page by entering any combination, order and spellings of the query “what is search engine optimization,” including “search engine optimisation” (spelled with an “s”), plain “SEO,” or perhaps “Optimisation Search Engine what is it” (with capitals and different word order), then I stand to lose many hits, most likely to someone who did prepare for more keyword search possibilities.

You may notice that I am using optimisation and optimization interchangeably. That’s because in New Zealand we spell that word with an s, while Americans spell it with a z. I am making a great effort to Americanize my spelling.

Getting back to the topic of ranking well in search engine results, I have authored several articles on the importance of this concept and will include some links at the end of this article.
I have been involved in website design for over 7 years and taught myself the skills necessary for allowing search engines to find websites before I knew that there was a name for it (SEO). I have come to the realization that it is not enough to merely have a professional website.

SEO, or search engine optimisation, of the site you are creating also requires that the website contain accessible content that search engines can index and that users of these search engines can find using many different keywords and phrases. This leads to more frequent and higher-ranking appearances of the website in the results of search engines across the board.

It is quite gratifying to have clients who are happy that their website that is not only attractive, but is successful as well. I have come to the realization that being a jack-of-all-trades is not always efficient, so now my business is co-owned by a web-designer/developer and I have a programmer who handles the more complex websites.

My point is that a good SEO or search engine optimisation specialist should allow search engines to be able to index your website for as many related and similar keywords as possible. When you know what you are doing, this is not a difficult task. It does consume a bit of time, but it is not very hard.

How Much should SEO cost, what some people charge for their SEO services

How much does SEO cost?

This is a really hard question to answer, it’s a bit like asking how much a car costs, it just depends, one of the first considerations is how big is the site, what is it selling.

And one of the first questions I reply to this “how much” question with, is what is your budget? Then I ask how many visitors they would like to their website each month.

When I client tells me how much their budget is, and how many clients they are wanting to their website each I can give them a few options.

For a low budget generally speaking though, often $500 plus $1 per each visitor per month is a good way of working it out. This works at the lower end of the scale anyway, so if a client is looking only looking at another 1000 visitors a month, then often $1500 will be a good starting point one of the SEO clients I have has paid $2500 on SEO over 2 years and is getting an extra 7000 visitors per month, so this simple sum doesn’t always work. Once you start looking at 10’s of thousands of new visitors a month, the budget per visitors drops dramatically, getting visitors to a website initially is the hardest task, getting more visitors in general isn’t that time consuming.

I have an SEO client that I’ve just started talking about SEO on her website, she has a budget of $30,000 over the next year, and if wanting to increase her website visitors to 250,000 per month. The client has an global art gallery online, so generating plenty of visitors should be easy enough. A lot of time will be spent link building, and building the pagerank of a lot of the internal pages, I have 4 clients with artist websites. I only do minimal work for them, but have always found linkbuilding easy for these site.

Cheers Lynny
www.seobycanz.com

I was recently reading a blog for an SEO Who always quoted $50,000 then $5000 per page for SEO work, looking at what he did when doing SEO on a website, the sites he did seo for, they were doing ok, but nothing that special, they were ranking between 7th and 9th on page #1 of google, so paying more for SEO, doesn’t mean you will get better results, if just means your SEO doesn’t work with people on smaller budgets, personally I would perfer have my site ranking higher for more phrases, than to be able to say, I spent $70.000 on SEO, I guess though that there is a certain amount of snob value in saying that huh.

Boxit domain names

The owner of http://www.boxit.co.nz/ has been very impressed with the results of my SEO work,
so impressed, that she’s decided to expand her business to the world market.
I advised her to buy some dot coms, and let them get into the search engines buy parking them over her orginal website.
This will get google looking though the site, and then her site will start to appear in world search engines, rather than mainly in New Zealand Search engines.
She brought these names.

http://www.boxitgiftbaskets.com/
http://www.boxitgifthampers.com/
http://www.boxitgiftboxes.com/

The results of the SEO are too numerous to mention here, but one stunning result is just for the for the word
boxes
in the google.co.nz search for New Zealand websites, her site is listed at #3 in the search results, thats a pretty impressive feat, ranking so well in a single word search.

When I do another analysis of keywords and their ranking in varies search engines, I’ll write the results here so you all can read them.

ok, ok, you twisted my arm, I’ll tell you three phrases she’s doing #1 for in google.co.nz

buy gifts for ladies
gifts for ladies
ladies gifts

these are all #1 ranking in New Zealands google, search on New Zealand websites.
Before I started, these 3 particular searches where ranked at more than 100.
I know this, cause I don’t search future than the first 10 pages, and the site didn’t appear.

So thats quite remarkable, don’t you think?

Been Busy SEO’ing

I have been very busy doing various SEO jobs for both our own site, www.canzdesign.com and a variety of websites I am SEO’ing at the moment.

One our own site, I have been writing various articles and adding them to the site, fixing up links within out site, and tweaking the meta tags of the site. I have also posting in several forums, and have written about 7 articles for Buzzle an article website. You can check out my articles on Buzzle by looking here http://www.buzzle.com/authors.asp?author=9145
I’m about to start taking screen shots of our SEO friendly CMS, there’s been a lot of interest from Artists and photographers wanting an easy way of displaying their images.

The other sites I do SEO work on, have been having great results,
www.gemhunters.com.au has yet again increased it’s visitors by over 2000 a month, and sales are up, the owner is thrilled. It lost a PR point on Google a couple of rounds ago, but if getting far more hits, being found for far more different search keywords and key phrases, and with sales skyrocketing everyone is happy.

I’m still working on the www.peoplecoachingpeople.co.nz site , and am teaching it’s owner to do her own optimization, she seems to be picking it up quickly.

www.buykiwimade.com has had a make-over in the past month, I got rid of the CMS that was there, and created a directory for NZ owned websites.

I’m also doing the SEO work on three other websites, that are about to be opened.

www. Aotea. net is a web hosting website one of 6 we have built for the same company is about to be my next SEO job.

That site is going to be a real challenge, since there are at least 10 other sites owned by the same person, that have the same content on them. Google hasn’t banned the site, but it seems to have put the site onto some kind of bad list, and is only visiting the site about 30 times a month, a site that size should be having Google visit at least 500 times a month, even if the content doesn’t change. Read about the results of SEO for one of these sites here

Zillions of $$ from google adwords

Hi Vicki.

I found a pdf online the other day, and eventually read it, it contained the formula for making a lot of money out of websites by having adsence on the site. It made pretty good sense to me, so I thought I would run it past you.

The basic idea, is to create a small website, that wasn’t selling anything, just giving good advice on any given subject. Build a home page and say 5 more pages, with relevant information. Say the site is about SEO, and each page is about a specific keyword or key phrase to do with SEO, say one way backlinks, reciprocal links, linking text, search engine submission, and sigs on forum posts. Each page is linked to from the home page using anchor text from the home page article, then link each page first to second, second to third again using anchor text. .

The he recons outsource the job of submitting the home page to directory’s, using good keyword based text links not more than 50 sites per week. meanwhile making your next 6 page website. On a different topics as long as the sites are informational and not selling anything.

Since the sites don’t have any outbound links, they don’t lose anything to other sites. Then link to the site from your main money making site. Once your site starts getting index, add another page at the rate of one page per week. (google see’s there’s changes which is good) once your PR starts to climb, then add google adsence to the pages, still keep the outsourcer adding your site to fifty directory’s per week, and add another page per week. And make another website per week.

This guy says that the better the page rank of the page the ad appears on, the more you get paid to have advertisements on those pages…which makes sense.

He suggest you slip the adsence into your content rather than have it at the end of your page. And continue adding more backlinks to each site, by article submission, and other ways you know about, he again suggests you outsource this work, basically you keep making a new site each week, and adding one page to each site you have already built.

Realistically this would be a LOT of typing, but if you were writing about subjects you were particularly interested in, You could knock out one site a week for 10 weeks or so, and how much would it cost, the cheapest global domain names I have seen are $5USD. Say you made 20 sites in a year, that would be what $100 in domain names, hosting, well we can have as many
domains as we want, so that doesn’t count, but renting a reseller domain costs sweet stuff all a month, and outsourcing the link building he quotes at $150 per site, $3000 per year, personally I think it would be more than that, the cheapest i have heard of, apart from the meat market, if .60 UScents per link, oh, thats right, there’s one place that offer’s 500 links for $250.
But this dude recons that within a year, the sites would be earning $10 per day per website, because of the high page rank of all the pages.

His figures were, $3600 earnings per website per year, x 48 websites = $172,800 per year, – 7200 for outsourcing = $165,600 profit.

I could possibly see how it could work, if you had nothing else to do but write content, and had a few grand around to pay an outsourcing place. It sounds good anyway….

Thinking as I do, I thought about the potential backlinks to the main site that could be gained once there pr had built up, and if instead of buying domain names, you were to make sub-domains with relevant names for the topic of these mini-site, as long as the main website name was also relevant. What I got from the articles was the sites should not be trying to sell
anything, but be purely informational, no fancy graphics, just good old well SEO’ed html pages.
It makes me wonder how fast a new domain could potentially build up page rank, using his idea. Makes me think about buying a cheap domain name, one thats keyword heavy, even if it is a long one, and try it out. I have witnessed, a pr3 in 5 months, with very little SEO work done.

With your site, I wonder if you had a subdomain with your articles on it, you have on the main site, if that would count as duplicate content. Would probably be best to have another domain name, possibly on a different server, I have to wonder about duplicate content, this dude, I’m doing the seo work for, had no less than 10 websites all with the same content, just the titles and metatags are different. And all his sites have a pr of 2 or 3. I guess it’s one step away from duplicate content.

I’ve also been thinking about directories, and how to make duplicate directories. And how this may be the way some people can offer 2000 directory submissions for $100. If you had a domain name with say 20 subdomain names, and had a database driven directory, you could link each directory to the one database. So a link added on one directory would appear
all to sites in one hit. If you had a couple of hundred sub-domains, it could work the same, and since some database driven sites are massive, with huge numbers of people using them at once, think of some of the massive forums, and how many visitors are on one topic at a time. So it could be done, and if there were a few non database driven web pages on each site, to the content was somewhat different. It wouldn’t take long to add links to 2000 directory’s. If the directories ever became popular to actual people, rather than just search engines, you might have to make more than one database, but still.

Oh, if I could get a job, where all I had to do was think or research ideas, and someone else do the grunt work…..

Blogs.
I have a google blog, and with it you can post a posting by sending an email. So I could send this email to both you and the, and have another blog posting. Wish they had been around when Kym and I were emailing each other, it would have been fun to have a record of our friendship growing, and eight months of daily emails to read back on. Actually, I might just send the
email to the blog to see if it will work, sending it to you and it.
